WHO WE ARE

Malaria remains a significant public health challenge and a leading cause of disease and mortality in Tanzania:
  • Approximately 30% of Tanzania’s population is at risk of malaria.
  • In 2022, there were 2.5 million reported cases of malaria in Tanzania.
  • 7,000 malaria-related deaths occurred in Tanzania in the same year.
  • Despite significant efforts, funding for malaria control has faced challenges and has not kept pace with the growing needs.

It is unacceptable that vulnerable and disadvantaged communities continue to suffer and die from this preventable and curable disease. This urgent issue drives civil society and communities to collaborate more effectively with various stakeholders to eliminate malaria.
As National CSOs Network
We are the Community Network Aiding Malaria Elimination in Tanzania (CONAMET), a national network that unites civil society organizations, community groups, and individuals from malaria-affected areas. Our mission is to drive malaria elimination efforts and ensure that communities are at the center of malaria programs. We are committed to advocating for malaria programs that are effective, sustainable, people-centered, rights-based, equitable, and inclusive. By empowering communities and civil society, we aim to advance health responses and support national and global malaria elimination goals

WHAT WE DO
